日亜修好通商条約125周年を記念し、グラミー賞受賞ピアニスト、パブロ・シーグレルと、国際派ピアニスト、志和雅恵が2台ピアノで奏でるヌエボ・タンゴ（現代タンゴ）のチャリティーイベントが都内ホテル・ニューオータニ、芙蓉の間にて1月25日（木）19時30分より開催される。
アルゼンチン出身のシーグレル氏は、タンゴの革命児、アストル・ピアソラのピアニストと10年間活動していた80年代から来日を繰り返し、親日家としても知られる。自身のアルバムは、グラミー賞ラテンジャズ部門、ラテングラミー賞ベストタンゴ部門を受賞し、ドイツの音楽賞「エコー賞」では音楽監督として、ボーダレス音楽部門に輝く。
2台ピアノのプログラムは過去に、エマニュエル・アックスや、クリストファー・オライリーなど世界的ピアニストと行い、志和雅恵との新たなデュオは南米ブラジル、アルゼンチン、カナダなどで絶賛を博し、2024年にはニューヨークおよびニューメキシコ公演が予定されている。
本公演は、南米のパリ、ブエノスアイレスに誘う、ヌエボタンゴ（現代タンゴ）の巨匠ピアソラとシーグレルの作品が中心のプログラムで構成される。かつては医師を志し、ブエノスアイレス大学で学んだシーグレルは、今回のイベントの収益の一部を医療団体に寄付することが予定されている。
Celebrating the 125th anniversary of the diplomatic relations between Argentina and Japan, a charity concert by the Grammy-winning Argentine pianist, composer, and arranger, Pablo Ziegler and the Japanese pianist, Masae Shiwa at Hotel New Otani on January 25th at 7:30 pm.
Argentine born Pablo Ziegler spent 10 years supporting a grand master Astor Piazzolla, the innovator of Nuevo Tango music and has toured in Japan since 1980's. Ziegler's albums has won and received multiple nominations for the Grammy-Awards and Latin Grammy-Awards. He also won German Music Awards "Echo Classical" for Music Without a Border Category as a music director.
Zielger has performed the two pianos program with Emanuel Ax and Christopher O'Riley. The new duo with Masae Shiwa has been praised in Brazil, Argentina, and Canada. In 2024. This duo's concert is scheduled in New York.
The program of the night will invite the audience to a journey to Buenos Aires featuring the music of Nuevo Tango by Astor Piazzolla and Pablo Ziegler. Ziegler once dreamed of being a medical doctor and studied at Buenos Aires University has had a deep link to the medical industry throughout his life. The part of the profit will be donated to a medical institution.
